As a result of my marketing and PR efforts for Always Kiss Me, I went on to sell two more books about kids to Random House (each for significantly greater advances). From there, I launched my own publishing company, Shake It! Books. My first two books - How to Be The Almost Perfect Husband and How to Be The Almost Perfect Wife - have gone on to sell more than 250,000 copies to date. Who made it happen? Me. No PR agency, no big bucks. What happened to those other two books? With little PR, they did not sell well. What have I learned from all this? 1.
